The Ordovician Alpine Getic/Kučaj nappe exposes an earlier-mapped shallow-marine transgressive-type Fe-silicate-rich ironstone sequence. is used as second-order evidence hitherto untraceable tectonically-driven unconformity. Early Paleozoic compression consistent with controversial latest Cambrian to intra-Ordovician interval, documented by (i) 488 Ma metamorphic event and available detrital zircon data (Serbo-Macedonian gneissic unit), (ii) deformed Lower brachiopod assembly, (iii) unconformity dividing Supragetic basement/”Vlasina complex”. further imply mafic gabbro-dominating sills, cropping out in northern unit, are back-arc activity. gabbro age, piercing Neoproterozoic–Cambrian (Lower Ordovician) Supragetic/”Vlasina complex”, overlain transgressive Silurian–Devonian sedimentary emergence intrusions reflects submarine volcanism, while deep-water redox conditions were capable sustained supply Fe (similar Sardinia).
